Happy September (the best month ever) 🎂
I had my best birthday ever nearly 25 years ago, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to top it.
I wore a purple polka-dotted dress, ate a lot of cake, and clapped all over our living room (as an excited four-year-old does!)…
…because BARNEY came to my birthday party.
Barney was my everything as a kid. From ages 2 to 6 (ok, maybe 7 or 8?!), you could find me hugging a Baby Bop stuffy and groovin’ my little booty off to the “I Love You” song.
I still remember seeing Barney come up to our door that day. Seeing my favorite purple dinosaur and hearing his “well-uh how you doing, birthday girl?” while he did his signature clap and skip…
…it blew my little mind.
Like I said, I’ll probably never top the Barney birthday. 🤷♀️
But I’ve tried a couple of times in the past few years-usually by having a Birthday Jubilee (credit to my dear friend, Hillary, for coming up with it).
• At any point in the week before your birthday, you turn to your loved ones and declare that your Birthday Jubilee has started.
• For the next week, you get a small gift every day. That way you feel extra celebrated and loved.
My birthday isn’t until September 19th. But since it’s my birthday and I’ll celebrate how I want to, I’m going to declare it a bit early.
